Mr. Benjamin has been Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer of Henry Schein, Inc. since February 2000. He also serves as a member of the Companyâ€™s Board of Directors and the Chairmanâ€™s Executive Management Committee, and the Companyâ€™s liaison to Boardâ€™s Compensation Committee.
In his current position, Mr. Benjamin directs operations at Henry Schein distribution centers in North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, including 2.7 million square feet of distribution space from which more than 10 million orders are shipped annually. Under Mr. Benjaminâ€™s leadership, the Company has led the industry in distribution efficiency and accuracy, with 99% of orders in the United States and Canada shipped the same day the order is placed, 99% delivered within two days of placement, and virtually 100% accuracy.
Mr. Benjamin also has guided all aspects of human resources and organizational development as the Company has grown to include more than 12,000 Team Schein Members in 20 counties around the world. In addition to spearheading innovative professional development initiatives, Mr. Benjamin has ensured that the Companyâ€™s unique values-based culture has been preserved and strengthened as the organization has experienced exponential growth through scores of strategic acquisitions. This culture is marked by Henry Scheinâ€™s commitment to social responsibility, and Mr. Benjamin has directed all internally-driven programs for Henry Schein Cares (the Companyâ€™s global social responsibility program), including Back to School and Holiday Cheer for Children, two flagship annual programs that give back to the less fortunate.
In his 20 years with the Company, Mr. Benjamin has held a series of positions with increasing responsibility, overseeing key facets of the organizationâ€™s infrastructure; including operations, administration, human resources, payroll, and customer service, among others. Prior to holding his current position, he was Senior Vice President of Administration and Customer Satisfaction, Vice President of Distribution Operations, and Director of Materials Management. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Benjamin served in a series of positions with increasing responsibility in 12 years with EstÃ©e Lauder, Inc., leaving that company as Director of Material Planning & Control. Mr. Benjamin earned a bachelorâ€™s degree in electrical engineering at the City College of New York, and an MBA in marketing at Fordham University at Lincoln Center.
